Welcome to Magaly’s Tamales & Mexican Grill, a beloved sanctuary for Mexican cuisine nestled in the heart of San Fernando, California. Located at 134 N Maclay Ave, this vibrant eatery is not just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience that captures the essence of authentic Mexican flavors.

As you step inside, the inviting aroma of freshly made tamales fills the air, drawing you closer to a menu that offers an array of comforting and homemade dishes. The ambience is warm and friendly, echoing the spirit of family gatherings and joyful celebrations. It's an ideal spot for both a casual lunch and a delightful brunch after a Sunday service, as many locals have discovered.

One of the highlights of Magaly’s is, without a doubt, their famous tamales. Made fresh daily, these parcels of joy offer a delightful burst of flavor with every bite. Whether you opt for the classic Tamale Bowl, which showcases a vibrant mix of rice, beans, lettuce, and pico de gallo topped with your choice of tamal, or the satisfying Two Tamales combo, you are guaranteed a meal that is filling and unforgettable. Customer Cristina Moreno raves about the Tamale Bowl, noting her love for customizing it with avocado for an extra creamy touch.

If you're in the mood for something more quintessentially Mexican, try the Chile Relleno or the soft tacos, both known for their generous portions and authentic taste. Octavio Cervantes, a satisfied customer, recommends the sopes, tortas, and menudo for a veritable fiesta of flavors! For those seeking vegetarian options, Marittza Padilla highlights their delicious rajas con queso and veggie tamales, skillfully crafted without lard for a guilt-free indulgence.

And don’t forget to add a side of chips and salsa or pico de gallo to your meal for that extra crunch and zest! Each dish at Magaly’s is made with love and attention to detail, ensuring a truly enjoyable dining experience.

However, as with any popular spot, some customers have noted that during peak hours, your wait time might increase. But the friendly staff and the clean, welcoming environment make it worth the wait. In the words of Homero Guevara, “The location is super clean, and the staff are friendly.” That warmth, combined with the vibrant dishes, solidifies Magaly’s position as a must-visit restaurant in the area.

So gather your family and friends and head over to Magaly’s Tamales & Mexican Grill, where every meal is a celebration of soul-satisfying flavors and heartfelt hospitality. It's not just about food; it's about making memories over delicious meals that bring people together.

Magaly’s is my go-to lunch place! I regularly enjoy the tamale bowel that consists of a choice of rice and beans as a base, lettuce and pico topping with a tamal of your choice. This time I decided to add some avocado.

It seems I may have had a bit of a mixed experience at this restaurant. As a huge fan of homemade tamales, I was really looking forward to trying the Tamale Bowl. However, it didn’t quite match my expectations. I had envisioned something similar to a Chipotle-style bowl, but instead received a dish that felt more like a fresh, health-inspired bowl filled with an abundance of veggies. On the positive side, my sisters Chili Relleno looked absolutely delicious and definitely caught my eye! In hindsight, I might have been better off choosing that or sticking with the classic tamales. Overall, while I didn't find what I was hoping for, I can appreciate the emphasis on fresh ingredients. I may give this place another shot to explore more of the menu!

Family and friends, we all love this place. It's one of our usual spots for brunch Sundays after church. They serve staple Mexican dishes as well as some American. Chilaquiles and huevos con chorizo are some of our faves! Great place, must try!

If you're craving authentic Mexican cuisine, look no further than this hidden gem. The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and prices that won't break the bank. I highly recommend the sopes, tortas, and menudo. While the food is undoubtedly the star of the show, there are a couple of areas where the restaurant could improve. During peak hours, the wait for your food can be a bit long, so be sure to factor that in when planning your visit. Additionally, the music selection is limited to reggaeton and bachata, which doesn't quite capture the full breadth of Mexican music. Overall, the delectable food and reasonable prices make this restaurant a must-try for Mexican food lovers. Just be prepared for a potential wait and a soundtrack that might not be entirely in sync with the cuisine.

Best tamal option for vegetarians! I discovered this place during the pandemic and I’m a huge fan since they make their tamales without lard. I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed. They are tasty, and very big for their price. I love the rajas con queso & veggie tamales. I keep going back every couple of months. Side note: I don’t care for their cafe de olla (too sweet and not caffeinated enough) but they have a quite varied food selection- something for everyone! Such a hidden gem

Wow, this place is everything!!! So fresh, we came at a great time to see them make the Tamales on the spot. Ordered the Ribeye Steak cooked to perfection. Tamales are so soft and fluffy, and they don't skip on the filling. Also, iced coffee was better than Starbucks.
